The Port of Brisbane is one of Australia’s fastest-growing and diverse container ports, and Australia’s leading beef and cotton port.
The port services Australia’s fastest-growing region, extending from South East Queensland to Northern New South Wales. Brisbane is closer to the Asia Pacific Rim than any other major Australian container port, being up to five sailing days closer to Asia than the ports of Sydney and Melbourne. The Port of Brisbane has 29 operating berths and over 7,500m of berth space (including upriver facilities) and is serviced by over 40 shipping lines.
The Port of Brisbane provides world-class cargo handling and warehousing facilities, and an interface between rail, road and sea transport at the Brisbane Multimodal Terminal (BMT).
As well as accommodating the motor vehicle and container trade, the Port of Brisbane has suitable facilities that are ideally designed for project, scrap metal, dry bulk, livestock, out-of-gauge, heavy lift and break-bulk cargoes.
The Port of Brisbane is located at the mouth of the Brisbane River, and is managed and developed by the Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd (PBPL), under a 99-year lease from the Queensland Government. PBPL is owned by the Q Port Holdings (QPH) consortium. For further information please click here.
