- What services does ATC provide? ATC provides local professional expertise in facilitating business and networking opportunities. The region is managed by four well-connected stakeholder organisations – the Queensland Government's Department of Employment, Economic Development and Innovation, Brisbane City Council (through Brisbane Marketing), Port of Brisbane Pty Ltd and Brisbane Airport Corporation – that have established trade and development networks able to assist your business. - Does ATC Ltd charge for it's services? No, ATC Ltd is the not-for-profit economic development agency committed to supporting the economic growth of the region.
- Does ATC provide financial assistance or investment grants for businesses? No, ATC does not provide financial assistance, but we can put you in contact with the right people at Federal, State and Local Government levels that offer various incentives and assistance schemes such as the Queensland Government’s Investment Incentive Scheme. Brisbane Marketing also provides investment facilitation and research services for businesses wanting to relocate to or expand in Brisbane. ATC can provide local knowledge and expertise regarding investment and business opportunities in the region.

- What kind of land and premises are available at ATC? ATC has Brisbane’s largest supply of future industrial land suitable for a diverse range of industries and future expansion. - What is the standard of infrastructure at ATC? ATC offers a unique provision of logistics, transport and planning on a scale not undertaken in Australia before. More than $600 million has been invested in infrastructure development over the past seven years. ATC also provides 24-hour, seven-day curfew-free operations, low cost and high-speed data and communications, failsafe power supply and state of the art security and fire services. The organisation has an Infrastructure Working Group and is undertaking major infrastructure studies worth more than $400,000 to ensure the region’s future needs are also met. The Queensland Government’s South-East Queensland Infrastructure Plan and Program 2005-2026 also maps out future development for the region over the next 10 years with a total investment of $32.3 billion. Close to $3 billion of this investment is earmarked for projects identified within or servicing the ATC region.

Labour Market
- Is there ready access to a skilled workforce in Queensland? Queensland’s universities are recognised for leading research and high-quality graduates, with nine institutions offering a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses. The state is also home to 17 Co-operative Research Centres. The Queensland University of Technology and University of Queensland, both located in Brisbane, are ranked in the world’s top 100 universities. The state’s universities are also keen to work with companies based in Queensland to tailor courses to suit their specific skill requirements. Queensland has the fastest growing population in Australia, providing employers with an ever-increasing pool of skilled labour to recruit from. The Queensland Government is also focused on delivering education and training programs to equip young people for the knowledge economy.
- What are labour costs like in the state? Queensland’s labour costs are extremely competitive in comparison to other states. The state’s payroll tax of 4.75% is the lowest of any Australian state and companies are not required to pay it until total wages and salaries exceed A$850,000 a year.
